Undergraduate thesisImagination as Salvation in Juan Carlos Onetti's A Brief LifeNational Autonomous University of Mexico · 2021A reading of Onetti's 1950 novel as a process of ontological salvation: Brausen, trapped in a life reduced to means and ends, invents a city and a second self in order to survive himself. The thesis follows the trap, the imagination and the salvation as three forms of existence, through Bachelard's phenomenology of imagination and Heidegger's account of authenticity.
